Any help would be greatly appreciated

I'm rewriting an English to Chinese translation that I got wrong on the last test and would appreciate any advice/comments from my friends out there whose Chinese is much better than mine. :)

我去过中国很多次．我知道北不比南部不同的多．天气，语言和菜都不同的．语言例如北方人说话的时候我听得懂比南方人容易．可是有时南方人说话我听不懂因为他们不说普通话．我想我说普通话比他们好．（但是没告诉我的老师我这个词说．）
