BBC online today has one of the funniest stories I've read in ages about a chimp in china whose taken up smoking because she's sexualy frustrated...

You can read the story here

They also have a nice article about the huge protests at the RNC, including a picture of a guy holding up a sign that said. "yee-ha" is not a foreign policy
I finished reading The Loved One last night. When I first picked it up I was a little trepidations as it was set in hollywood, and as a general rule I don't tend to enjoy books set in hollywood, but as it was only 1948 and about funeral parlors I thought I'd read it. Besides Rhias had recommended it and she is rarely wrong about these things.

It was so funny, he basic plot was vaguely similar to vile bodies, boy and girl get engaged, have problems getting married. But there were some truly priceless descriptions of funerals and funeral homes, whole chapters were just so beautifully written. One of the funniest bits I thought was the description of the girl's perfume
"Jungle Venom"_"From the depths of the fever-ridden swamp, where the juju drums throb for the human sacrifice, Jeannette's latest creation Jungle Venom comes to you with the remorseless stealth of the hunting cannibal

I so wanted to get some, and I find I am allergic to most perfumes!
