Today at work I got to see one of the Dicken's Manuscripts. Hard Times with his very own hand. I was surprised that the ink looked blue. He also made loads of changes and corrections. It reminded me that I really should try reading Dickens again one of these days.

Earliest book to hand out was 1642, it hadn't even been marked as "special"

Though my personal favorite was finding the original E.P. Thompson article in the 1966 Times Literary Supplement where he coined the phrase "History From Below". After revising it so intently for the past couple weeks, and then having it not show up on the exam it was nice to see the cause of so much pain.
