Saturday after Abney Green we went to my sister's birthday party. There were 6 people there total, it was a bit strange. Ended up drinking far too much scotch and coke and followed her and two of her friends to a club in Highbury and Islington (whose name I can't remember) for a 20s style night where they played really good music. We danced till the wee hours. One of my co-workers also was there which was quite strange but not entirely surprising as she seemed to have some goth leanings, and had been to convergence and has a very 20s/30s style. What was surprising was my sister ended up going home with said co-worker. Fortunaly Bethany said so, and co-workers friends were very good at getting Bill and I to the night bus as we had no idea where we were. Finaly made it home at 5.30 or something all I know is that the sun was up.
Sunday watched the start of the Grand Prix till I saw Schumacher over take Button, then headed off to Bibliogoth. Nice discussion, and managed to collect my picture from Coling and Jenny. Then we headed back home to have dinner with Alan and Kelly.
Monday we got up early and took the Bus to Dover Castle which was huge and beautiful. (I'll post pics later from home). The "secret wartime tunnels" were particularly strange for me, knowing that's where they planned the evacuation of Dunkirk, where my maternal grandfather was. If that hadn't happened I wouldn't be here today. We got home around 11p, said goodbye to alan and Kelly who were heading back to the airport at 4am that morning. Only to discover that the window had developed a huge leak, the futon was wet, as were a box of books which we had to unpack before finaly sleeping.
Today I am very tired, but at least work is slow. Today's work highlight has been finding the first edition of Vanity Fair, and many other works of Thackery.
