Yesterday was the first day of the '100 years at Dunhuang' conference. It was really great. Half way through the day I realised I'd been sitting next to Victor Mair whose one of my favorite scholars. sahra_patroness's lecture on Islamic Magic which was very enjoyable and seemed to greatly impress the rest of the audience as well.
Today is day two of the conference, I may try and talk to people today. The breaks reminded me of the coffee breaks after church where I always just stood around feeling awkward and not talking to anyone. Then tonight I should be out at Blood and Velvet. Does anyone know what time Zombina and the Skeletones are supposed to be playing? Tommorow is the last day of the conference followed by dinner withsilkyraven and company then Innvocation. Plans for Sunday MUST include some studies, and perhaps a bring and buy sale and the Dev. But I might be trying to do too much!
