This really annoyed me today,
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/health/article1884492.ece

I realise that it is from the times, and I understand the problems of alcoholism and alcohol related illness, but this just seems to be going too far!

And because I work in a health library I had to investigate further. 2006 drinking statistics are available online
http://www.statistics.gov.uk/articles/nojournal/Drinking_2006.pdf

Where "middle class wine drinkers" are shown to consume about 4 units a week of wine! Hardly an epidemic!!!
Crap! It turns out that my gallery talk at the V&A is supposed to be this Sunday at 3pm! I had vaguely remembered that it was in June but thought I had more time to prepare.

Now I have to decide if one Saturday will be enough time to put something together, or if I should just cancel.

Would anyone be interested in coming?

EDIT: Well after I asked Andrew questions about if they'd prepared or be able to get me into the library, he wrote back that it would be best to cancel it as he didn't think it'd be able to work. I am dissapointed, it would have been a great thing to add to the CV and quite fun. I guess I shall have to be a bit more proactive about such opportunities in future.

Bummed!
