今天上午我看见秦始皇帝的兵马俑!!!它们好极了所以我很高兴!!!!

Today I got to go to the "private event" that the Librarian's unicorn users group got places for at the British Museum to go and see the Terracotta Warriors. It was VERY good! It was nice getting to go past annoying American tourists who yelled at me because "there's a line" I didn't even bother to tell them that in England we don't have line's we have queues! Even though it was an early showing it was still very busy. I snagged an English and a Chinese guide, and gave lots of background and history to the woman who had come with me and arranged it. The warriors were pretty great, there were also lots of other interesting terracotta figures, and lots of realy great Qin artifacts. The coins I thought were the most dramatic demonstration of what the unification meant, they had pre-qin coins from the various states, of all different shapes and then a mold, and a Qin coin that looked like what was used for the next 2000+ years. They covered most of the important things, I missed seeing refernces to the burning of the books (which could have just been me) but I did notice how they glossed over ALL refernces to the human sacrifices that accompanied the burial! Which was a little dissapointing. One of the best things was a reproduction of a Han dynasty tile with a picture of Jin Ke, attempting to assisnate the Emperor. Which reminded me I really need to watch The Emperor and the Assasin again!

It was a pretty fabulous morning. So nice to be able to go as part of a private party, where they allow you to bring in bags, and don't hassle you and you don't have to wait. I will have to go back with Bill and probably again for my birthday as I noticed its going till April.

Wonderful!
