The first week of term was very good. My classes all seem really interesting, though it does seem like an awful lot of work, I felt quite intimidated by the ammount of reading we are expected to do, which should probably terrify everyone who reads this. But I had a lovely chat with my Chinese Religions professor and it seems like we agree on lots of points. The Chinese class wasn't too difficult. In the afternoon grammer class the Professor told me that I did a very good translation of the passage, which made me very happy. The reasearch methods class looks a lot more interesting than I imagined it would. One of the professors (who wrote the book on Opium Culture in China that I love) said by the end of the year we should be able to pick up any history book and be able to completly tear it apart in 2 minutes figuring out what the authors theories were and what kind of sources they used etc. So I found that very exciting.
My dad visited this weekend which was nice as it's the first I've really seen of him since we've been here. So we got to talk about things like him leaving Mum and becoming an atheist and all that good stuff. We went to look at the Tower of London which was pretty interesting. Then we ended up drinking far too much at my Uncle Steve's on Saturday. I ended up being sick in the taxi so we stayed the night. Fortunatly no one seemed to mind, I guess that's one way to feel like a student again. Though not one I plan on repeating any time soon. I also found out Steve's is on the back of the Soft Cell record.

Sunday I was too hungover to do much. Which means today has been spent doing all the reading for my class tommorow. Only half a book left and it's only 7pm so I'm not too worried. So far I am greatly enjoying being a student again.
