where some new twist on documentary/reality paid $5000 for someone to start their own religion. It's a fairly interesting little article.

Though the religion they came up with sounds TERRIBLE, "living in the now" and "being satisfied with now" which they claim are based on New Age, Buddhist and Taoist beliefs. I don't know much about the New Age but that is SO NOT anything to do with Buddhism and Taoism! Buddhism looks at the now being a false reality and desire as something you need to free yourself from. Taoism is about sin causing sickness and purifying your mind and body to achieve transcendence. But then he read the I Ching in a coffee shop in 20 mintues and was totaly blown away so obviously knows much more than me about what he's talking about!
(GRRRR, initialy this was just going to be an informational post to EG but got annoyed by the whole misuse of Eastern religions so now I think I will post this to my regular journal instead).
Back in June we got a notice from our tenancy agency asking us if we'd like to renew our lease. We filled it in, said we would like another year lease. Then a month or so later we got a phone call from said agency asking us if we'd like to renew the lease. I said yes and we'd sent in the paperwork, they said, oh it's probably in the office somewhere we'll find it. They then called me again saying "Valerie good news the tenant wants to renew the lease" to which point I said, I know, I am the tenant you dialed the wrong number. Then today I got a letter in the mail that said, despite our trying to contact you by letter three times we've not heard anything from you and assume you are now switching to a month to month contract!!! (also known as a Statutory Periodic Tenancy)

One, I am terribly offended at the gross incompetancy of the agency
Two, having read what they're offering it looks more to my liking, instead of 3 months notice, which we had on our first lease we only need to give one months notice, and the landlord must give us two.

All in all I have to say this sounds better to me, as once we're both working it would be nice to have the option to move somewhere a little less remote. Though I don't know if the odds are against us and we're more likely to get kicked out because of this. (Though besides being messy they have no reason to).

Not only that but my professor whose been out of communication for months, promised to send me thoughts on my work this weekend, I heard nothing from him. Tuesday I wrote saying I'd realy like to meet this week. Yesterday at 6 (after I got offline) he suggested we meet today at 11.30 which of course I didn't read till 11.45! So now I won't get to meet him till Monday! Which is rather annoying as it means I'll have to write everything and then talk about which bits to cut, rather than talking about which bits to cut first and then just focusing on the better bits. I also have this horrid fear that he won't be able to do monday and will suggest Tuesday when I have work!

Which reminds me my boss still hasn't gotten back to me about when I need to hand in my hours for this past month!

Must find something to do to calm down so can get back to work....
