The Golden Compass
I enjoyed this quite a bit. I liked the not-quiet Renaissance setting. The main character was quite enjoyable and felt that the plot moved along well. It seemed more disconnected and a lot like a fantasy novel. Still was good fun.

The Subtle Knife
The step into the "real" world seemed a bit strange here. The going backwards and forwards a lot made the book go quickly, but not as much actually seemed to happen. It was introducing some interesting ideas but felt it didn't have as much cohesian as the first book.

The Amber Spyglass
I thought it was hilarious that the universe got saved by two 12 year old kids having sex! I enjoyed all the anti-god propoganda, but felt that for the last book it was incredibly slow to get going. I missed Lyra for the first 200 pages during which she was asleep and figured that could have gone much quicker. I was a little dissapointed that the rebellion went no where (as wars on heaven always tend to do in books).

Overall the series was quite enjoyable. I'm glad I read them and that they went so quickly. In the end I didn't like it as much as Harry Potter (Or the Series of Unfortunate Events). But definitely worth the read.
