Tard jobs seem much easier to get! I just called back the woman who called me before Christmas about tard work, starting at £9.50 an hour to £11 (Which is Twice what I got paid in Seattle!). She seemed REALLY nice and VERY keen for me to start working. She's going to send me the application pack, which I am to fill in, I will have to wait 6 weeks for a CRB but it sounds like she liked my experience a lot! I suppose ten years experience as opposed to one is much better! I think I could happily herd tards again if the pay was double what I did before, especially if it's only for a couple years till I can do my PHD. At this point I just really need a job!

I also got in one application for a library job and have another to fill in, so I've not given up completly on that. (Though oddly the money seems better working with the disabled!)

So feeling much more positive, have studied some Chinese, now I must exercise!
