Well the conference was just fabulous, even though I never managed to talk any of the scholars it was nice hearing all the talks. It really inspired me to study more chinese. Friday we met at the British Museum and I went to their Gods, Guardians and Immortals exhibit which was tiny, but rather nice. Amusingly enough one of the speakers at the conference, Roderick Whitfield, mentioned how three of the selections were ones he'd selected for the museum to buy!

Laozi (as selected by RW)
Ge Hong Moves House, One of the earliest Chinese biographers of Immortals and an Immortal in his own right. (also selected by RW)

And a fantastic Ming scroll of Gods and Goddesses

And a bad picture of a great painting found in Cave 17 at Dunhuang after being sealed for a 1000 years, and part of the great collection that we were all at the conference to discuss.

After the conference Bill and I went out to Blood and Velvet and hung out with
bluehelen and FINALLY got to see Zombina and the Skeletones live. Even though the sound was kinda crappy it was still the most fun I've had at a gig in years! Will definitly be seeing them again.

Saturday I managed to get out of bed for the conference, came home and fell asleep for about 4 hours. Went out to dinner to celebrate
kittylyst and
silkyraven's birthdays. Then it was off to Innvocation. I love livining in London, Here is a nice view of the Tower which we passed on the way to the club.

Spent most of the evening chatting with
sahra_patroness and
sinbadsilk and dancing, much fun!
sahra_patroness and Me

It's been quite a fabulous couple of days, in keeping with this weeks scholarship and socialising, Bill and I are going to go and spend the afternoon studying and then head over to the Dev for more of
silkyraven's birthday celebrations!
