Yesterday I was shown the digitisation room and we took pictures of Darwin's Voyage of the Beagle and the 1493 Nurenberg Chronicle. The latter was very funny as it had the entire "history of the world" and included Biblical stories, greek myths and actual history. The illustrations showed everyone dressed in late medieval clothing and living in European cities and castles. This was particularly ammusing for the picture of Joseph talking to "pharoh", not to mention the destruction of Sodom and Gammorah!
I finally have my email working and have discovered that I CAN borrow books from SOAS library and Senate House library. HORRAY! I forsee next year I will be able to read a lot more nice scholarly history books again.
This morning I have been searching for pre-1830 books in the main library and repairing books.
This evening
