I really enjoyed this book. Oddly despite being so short is one of the few J. K. Rowling books that I didn't sit down and read on one go. It was a nice trip back into the Harry Potter world. I enjoyed the fairy tales, and particularly enjoyed Dumbledore's comments on them. In all but the story about the fountain I felt the comments really added to the tales. The writing of the fairy tales wasn't at all old fashioned, which was a little disappointing, but probably better than attempting to do it in a more verbose manner and failing.
It was also interesting to see the Witch trials being covered, something I don't think I'd seen mention to before in HP.
It was a very fun book, I liked the fact that it had been printed on nice paper and the fake dirt marks on the cover. It made me want to go back and find the other little books she wrote for comic relief as well as to re-read the last Harry Potter novel. The proceeds for the book go to help special needs children get out of large institutions which I think is a worthy cause. So all told I'm very satisfied.
(I feel no shame for writing about this as the next book I'm going to write up is a very scholarly and obscure book on Chinese religion and superstition so I figure it all balances out!)
