The phenomena of Chinglish is good fun. (As amusing as bad Chinese tattoos that Westerners get). Mistranslations of Chinese into English - usually by way of a computer. Having run some of my Chinese blog entries through Babelfish with much hilarity I can see how this happens.

This book doesn't have the best examples I've seen but is nevertheless quite good. I have to say what I liked best about it was that in most cases it included the original Chinese as well so I was able to figure out what was supposed to be said, and how the mistakes were made. So in addition to being highly amusing the book also turned into very good practice for reading Chinese signs. Despite being very slack about studying Chinese the past few months I was happy to realise I understood nearly all the characters. Phew! Quite a relief to know I've not lost it all yet
