  1. british sea power:
My favorite new band at the moment. I got introduced to them by friends in the states who did a show with them and well just really enjoyed their cds.
  2. cultural anthropology:
At first I was thinking of doing a social anthropology MA before I realised I could do one in history. And cultural anthropology seems to be what they call it in the US. But I gave up on studying anthropology as it seemed too modern or too primitive. But it's still an interest.
  3. elizabeth i:
Tudors and Stuarts remains a favorite period of history for me. And I love reading about the reign of Elizabeth I, particularly as she was the unmarried female monarch and lived in such interesting times. And I am rather fond of the BBC drama of Elizabeth R.
  4. hedwig:
Hedwig and the Angry Inch is probably my favorite play of all time and a damn fine movie. I just love glamoourous transexuals what else is there to say.
  5. lego:
Lego is the best toy EVER!
  6. occult:
I love reading books about the Occult and Occult matters. I don't believe in any of it but am fascinated by the people who do and the stories that they come up with. Ghosts and spirits throughout all history and all the world are probably my favorite things to learn about.
  7. qing dynasty:
Qing was the last dynasty in China, there is so many interesting things that happened then, and is the setting for a lot of my favorite Chinese movies and books.
  8. song:
This is the Song dynasty not just a song. They were in charge from around 900ad to 1200ad. They had printing, and an economic boom, but unfortunatly were not quite so good militarily. They were the dynasty that the professor I had at the UW was an expert in and they're probably my 3rd favorite (after Tang and Han).
  9. taoism:
A lot of Chinese things came up on this list, hardly a surprise. I like Taoism for the hosts of gods and spirits, and imortals. They have great stories and exorcisims and were favored by the Tang dynasty. I'm not so fond of the alchemy side or the more "philosophical" side. But I hope to be studying it a heck of a lot in my MA.
  10. zhang yimou:
Zhang Yimou is my favorite director. I love all of his films so much. I think my favorite at the moment is "Too Live". It was such a nice surprise to see Gong Li make it through the movie alive. And I found it just a really interesting look at life. But his movies just always make me cry.
