I must be the only person I know whose not seen the film, and it is my sister [livejournal.com profile] camelstrong's favorite, when I was up visiting last week she said I should buy a copy, but as it was £9 for the penguin I decided I'd wait and get a copy from the library. The first two parts were exactly what I expected, the gang roaming around, and then the "therapy". I have to admit the psychologist in me did quite like the idea of being able to artificially implant consciences, but the punk rebel was a bit horrified! Of course it didn't work, though was a bit dissapointed as to how they got past it with no description at all just "hypnotism" while he was sleeping. I thought the third part was by far the best, probably because I didn't know what was going to happen. It was great to see the corrupt governments, and total lack of ideals. I also thought it was quite funny how he felt so "grown-up" at 18! And his friend's wife mocking his way of talking. The slang was quite distracting, but cause it had a logic wasn't too bad to follow.

As [livejournal.com profile] beluosus said, "A book where teenage gangs who talk funny roam around doing violence, sounds like real life to me". Now if only we could get our hands on some milk!
